2026 Iran War Impact - Luxury Shipping Delay Tier Ranking (Shein, Amazon)

2026년 이란 전쟁, Your Awesome Finds – Where Are They? Luxury Delivery Delay Tier Ranking Revealed!

"Oh, I love this! But it hasn’t even arrived yet?" Do any of you feel like you’re giving the exact same expression right now? I was seriously thrown for a loop when I found out the dress I bought from Shein hasn't arrived after over a month.

Because it’s not just about the dress being late. Recently, I learned that the recent military clashes in Iran have put the entire Middle East logistics system in jeopardy – like, it could completely shut down. Even places like Amazon and Temu are being heavily affected.

Honestly, international online shopping has almost become a habit for me. The feeling of finding a great deal makes me happy. But this situation has made me realize it’s more serious than I thought.

Why is the Middle East Logistics System Getting Messed Up Because of the Iran War?

To explain a little more, the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran is located, is a key hub for global oil transportation. It’s also an important trade route connecting Europe and Asia. Due to recent military operations by Iran, the safety of this route is threatened, forcing global shipping companies to reroute their ships or temporarily halt transportation.

Ultimately, this change is directly impacting consumers. People like me who are waiting for dresses from Shein could see their delivery times more than double. According to 17Track data, Shein’s estimated delivery time has increased from 5-8 days to 8-10 days, and Temu could take as long as 20 days. Even Amazon is seeing delays, with a news article saying what used to take 35 days is now taking 45! Just thinking about it is frustrating, right?

Even more serious is the expected rise in logistics costs. Some analyses suggest that transportation costs could more than double. Of course, it’s very likely that companies will pass these costs on to consumers. I actually experienced a sudden price increase in the cosmetics I recently bought.

So, How Are Brands Responding? Luxury Delivery Delay Tier Ranking!

Some brands are exploring various strategies to overcome this crisis. But it's clear there’s a big difference between those who are prepared and those who aren’t. So, I ranked them myself! (Keep in mind, this is just my personal opinion!)

  • S Tier: Amazon (Actively Addressing the Crisis)

Because Amazon already operates a complex logistics system, they seem to be responding relatively quickly to this situation. Of course, delivery delays are unavoidable, but they seem to be trying to maintain a relatively stable service compared to other platforms. I also appreciate that they’re transparently sharing information about delivery delays with customers. However, price increases are probably unavoidable.

  • A Tier: Temu (Actively Seeking Alternative Routes)

Temu has grown rapidly by emphasizing price competitiveness, but their logistics might not be as robust as Amazon's. However, they seem to be actively exploring other transportation routes as a result of this situation. They’ll try their best to maintain low prices, but delivery times are likely to increase further.

  • B Tier: Shein (Inadequate Response)

Honestly, it seems like Shein was unprepared for this situation. They haven’t offered any clear solutions other than increasing delivery times. Many people love Shein for its affordable prices and trendy designs, but they might be disappointed by the delivery issues. I wonder when my dress will finally arrive… ᅲᅲᅲ

  • C Tier: Other Small Brands (Hope for the Best, Prepare for the Worst)

Small brands often rely on large platforms because they don’t have their own logistics systems. Therefore, they’re likely to be affected the most by this situation. It’ll be difficult to predict the exact delivery date, and they might not be able to properly respond to customer inquiries. In these cases, you just gotta pray.

Are There Any Solutions? How to Change Your Shopping Strategy for 2026!

Of course, this situation won’t last forever. But for a while, we’ll probably have to face the reality of delivery delays and price increases. So, what should we do?

  1. Avoid Impulse Buys: Since deliveries could be delayed, it’s best to only buy things you really need.
  2. Carefully Check Delivery Options: Some brands offer faster delivery options. Even if they’re more expensive, consider them if you need something urgently.
  3. Shop at Domestic Online Stores: Consider looking for similar products at domestic online stores instead of international online shopping.
  4. Use Social Media: Referencing delivery reviews from friends or family who bought the products can be helpful.

I’m thinking of cutting back on international online shopping for a while and looking for great deals at domestic online stores. Still, I can’t completely give up on those foreign brands! So, how should we navigate this crisis moving forward?
